Hi,

Can anyone help me out in plotting in JMP13? I have one y-axis variable and would like to over lay the y-axis for 2016 and 2017 (which i have the data in date format)

// Use Raleigh Temps.jmp for sample data .

Graph Builder(
	Variables(
		X( :Name( "Month/Year" ) ),
		Y( :Temperature ),
		Y( :Predicted Temperature, Position( 1 ) )
	),
	Elements( Smoother( X, Y( 1 ), Y( 2 ), Legend( 8 ) ) )
)

Assuming you have data for 2016 and 2017 in a single column. You can use overlay option itself. Data: Raleigh

Graph Builder(
	Variables( X( :Month ), Y( :Temperature ), Overlay( :Name( "Month/Year" ) ) ),
	Elements( Points( X, Y, Legend( 24 ) ), Smoother( X, Y, Legend( 25 ) ) ),
)

Suppose, If you have data in two different columns. Select both the years drag and drop on Y-axis. Right-click Y-axis and select either of them to shift to secondary axis. Example shown below, data Cholesterol

Graph Builder(
	Size( 1554, 1048 ),
	Variables(
		X( :treatment ),
		Y( :April AM, Side( "Right" ) ),
		Y( :April PM, Position( 1 ) )
	),
	Elements( Points( X, Y( 2 ), Legend( 9 ) ), Points( X, Y( 1 ), Legend( 10 ) ) )
)

  XanGregg says, "The feature of secondary axis is not prominent because it's not a data visualization best practice. See http://www.perceptualedge.com/articles/visual_business_intelligence/dual-scaled_axes.pdf for a full discussion".
