I wish to optimize a DOE response based on 13 variables, one which is based on a resistance.  I have two resistors, so can only have those two nominal values come up in the DOE table.  However, I wish to optimize the resistance required, so wish to model as if the variable were continuous.  I can then find a resistor to match the optimum resistance.  e, How should I label the factor?  Continuous?  Categorical?  And what about the:

Data Type:  Numeric, Character or Row State?

Modeling Type: Continuous, Ordinal, Nominal?

Design Role: Categorical, Continuous, Blocking, Covariate, Mixture, Constant, Signal, Noise, Uncontrolled, Random Block?

Thanks
