Using the Query Builder, I need to connect to a MSSQL database. Unfortunately, certain large tables are often locked due to concurrent uploading. When using other tools, the workaround is to set the transaction isolation level ahead of the query:
SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL READ UNCOMMITTED GO
When run before any SELECT queries, it tells the server that its ok to let the user read from locked tables (the risk is pulling incomplete data, but this is not an issue for us).
Does the Query Builder have a place to provide some initial custom sql statements that would run at the beginning of the session, prior to the main query? I can't seem to find anything. I know i can convert the script to custom sql and add the additional statements at the top, but then i lose all the niceness of the query builder. Alternatively, is there a way to modify the odbc connection to add something like this?
