Suppose you have 3 components, A, B, and C. There are 6 ways to add the components: ABC, ACB, BAC, BCA, CAB, CBA. I am assuming you will be using the same amounts and concentrations here. You can then repeat the experiments in random order or two or three replicates. You can then analyze the data using ANOVA techniques to determine the best order. You can then optimize for amounts and concentrations using the Definitive Screening Design. This is pretty simplified, but I think it will help you get a start.
