How to close multiple JMP data tables without saving?

JMP11 makes it practically impossible to close many data tables at once. Even if clearly stated that I am not interested in saving any of them ("Save none") JMP 11 takes you to a save-as screen.

This is highly detrimental to work efficiency.

Is there a trick/tip to make JMP11 work similarly with JMP9 in that respect.

Thnx!

Sam

Re: How to close multiple JMP11 data tables?

From the Home window click Windows > Close All.  Click Save None.

Or from one of the data table windows click Windows > Close All Data Tables.  Same prompt - click Save None.

Sam,

I found this add-in on the file exchange....

Close Selected Tables without Saving

Also on Windows>Window Close All Data Tables in JMP 11.2.1 works fine for me.

As far as the "Reply" button....You need to be logged in for that capability to appear.

Re: How to close multiple JMP11 data tables?

Thank you for your very prompt response.

Unfortunately, the solution you propose does not work. This happens not only on my computer but on everyone’s computer, as far as I know.

I am doing exactly as you said, click on “Save None” and anyways JMP decides by itself that it should force me to save tables one by one – it opens a “Save JMP file as” windowL.

The same happens if I want to close let’s say, 10 out of 20 open data tables.

It is quite annoying and time consuming.

I am very much interested in continuing this thread but apparently in discussions there is no “reply” option for me – this is why I answered you on the email.

Thnx again!

Re: How to close multiple JMP11 data tables?

Very strange - it works fine for me in JMP 10, 11.2.1, 12.1.  What version of JMP are you using?  Maybe it's time to contact JMP technical support.

Re: How to close multiple JMP11 data tables?

I have 11.2.0 and CTRL-Q or Windows/CloseAll it doesn’t work for me and others either.

I’ve got a jmp add-in that works – here it is Close Selected Tables without Saving<https://community.jmp.com/docs/DOC-7188>

Re: How to close multiple JMP11 data tables?

Hi Sam,

I'm using JMP 12.1 now, but I remember having this behaviour occasionally in JMP 11.0. I would try to update the Version to the 11.2.1 Lou uses. If there was an issue it seems to be fixed there. In 11.1.1 I coulnd't reproduce the behaviour.

Regards,

Martin

Re: How to close multiple JMP11 data tables?

Martin, thanks a lot (and many thanks to Lou too).

I updated to 11.2.1 and the problem is solved.

In any case, the add-in works too.

Really appreciate your prompt help guys!
