Find should work.
Modify should NOT work. A formula column's values can't be changed. You can remove the formula by clearing the expression in the formula editor. The last values from the formula remain in the column. Then find/replace will work.

Normally you can always search for an element or a value of a column with "CTRL+F", whether the column is selected or not. It is just necessary that the data table on which you are doing the search is in the "foreground".
