Confidence Regions in Ternary plots

Dear Community,

I know that the current version of JMP does not allow confidence regions for ternary plots. Is it possible to code to calculate confidence regions in ternary plots or is this something that newer versions may role out? See attached for an image created using R ggtern. The confidence regions are created using Mahalanobis Distance (an non-Euclidian measurement). I know distance measurements are a part of the multivariate analysis so this distance measurement can be created and saved to a data table. These plots are very useful for geological and sedimentological analysis.

Thank you,

-Lucas
