Can I change the folder location JMP searches for Map Shape Files?

I work in a heavily 'administered' environment and on my PC I dont have write access to the JMP/14/Maps folder. I was wondering if there is a way to let JMP know where my -XY file resides (if not in the maps folder).

The steps for applying a new map file involve pointing to a -Name file (it DOES successfully locate the name file)...but even if the -XY file is in the same folder, it isn't importing my boundary information. I may have missed a step?

My only other option is to submit a request for an IT specialist to schedule me for an appointment to come and log in as an administrator every time I need an add in or want to add to the program file folders...help?

You can store custom maps in your personal folder:

C:/Users/<user name>/AppData/Roaming/SAS/JMP/Maps

Do you have write access to that folder?

I do! I had to add /Maps there, but I found instructions on how to assign the file path to $USER_MAP_HOME...
It now works! Thanks!

Excellent! I'm glad it's working for you.

I don't think you need to set the environment variable you referenced. What happened when that variable wasn't set?
