Assessment of Variable Importance in Parametric Survival Fit?

The distribution profiler in parametric survival fit automatically includes time as an independent variable in the profile plot which is reasonable. But if you ask for assessment of variable importance the following JMP alert appears: "Assess Variable Importance requires input variables be associated with a column in the data table. Input variable Time is not associated with a column in the data table". The issue seems to be that survival time in survival analysis modelling is the dependent variable and therefore it is not available as an input variable for the assessment of variables. Is there a possibility to overcome this issue?

Solution

The Assess Variable Importance option will be disabled for the Parametric Survival platform in future versions of JMP. JMP Development determined that it doesn't make sense to use it for the CDF in parametric survival models.

Dear Moderator,

It seems that there will be no answer to this question from the community. Would it be possible to submit the question to the JMP developer of the parametric survival procedure and ask for her support?

Thanks

Hi dr.winfried.koch,

To ensure an answer you should contact Tech Support. I'll see if I can get any details for you here though.
