Accessing 2 JMP files at the same time?

I have never tried this before and I'm stuck.

I have a JMP data file. I need to loop through the rows, do some data manipulations on some of the columns, and then store some of the column values into a different JMP file.

I used the following command to access the first JMP file.

dt = open ("c:\$user...... ");

and can access the fields ok.

I wasn't sure how to open and reference the second file. I'm sure this is an easy question for someone out there...

Re: Accessing 2 JMP files at the same time?

Maybe I don't fully understand the question, but you should be able to use the same command to open both files, e.g.

To be certain that your subsequent actions address the right file you can send messages dt1 or dt2 explicitly or toggle the active data table using the commands "Current Data Table(dt1)" and "Current Data Table(dt2)".
