The Discussion Forum isn't intended to do homework assignments and this question ceratainly appears to be a homework assignment.

The solution to the problem is an easy thing for JMP to solve. Documentation for how to do this is covered in

Help==>Books==>Using JMP

Thanks Jim,

Even thought its not my question, the class is advanced statistics not JMP. There is no class on teaching JMP so its dificult to understand how to get JMP to generate the graphs and statistics needed to answer the problem especially when you've never used the software before.

The instructor should be teaching this in lecture if the expectation is for students to be able to do this on homework. If the instructor is not doing this, the student should visit the instructor or the T.A. during office hours.

First the data structure needs to be in an analytical form of

Cotton %, Tensile Strength

The Distribution Platform will allow you to evaluate such things as the normality

The Fit Y by X Platform will handle the remaining questions

I think the easiest way for you to get familiar with JMP is to go through a couple of the tutorials
