Accessing Your Database with JMP® 10

Brian Corcoran, Director of Software Development, JMP

You can do amazing things when you visualize your data with JMP. However, if you can't get the data into JMP, things grind to a halt. This presentation will describe the Open and Save Database capabilities in JMP, how you can use them to easily import your data and, if desired, how you can save JMP data back to a database. We will examine the Advanced dialog that allows easy construction of SQL Where clauses. For scripting, we will discuss the JMP Scripting Language support for obtaining database data. Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases will be featured. ODBC, the interface for communicating to databases, will be discussed and an example of setting up an ODBC driver for use with JMP will be provided. Finally, we'll touch on some ideas for future development.
