Stochastic Simulation Of Laundry Cold Water Temperature in North American High-Efficiency Washers
Mark G. Cipollone, Procter & Gamble Co.
A significant trend in North American laundry habit involves the use of less, and colder water. This trend is consistent with the ‘green’ movement, whilst also generating economical advantages in the purchase, disposal, heating, and removal of water during the laundry process. This trend has manifested itself in the design and sales of new machines- a fast growing machine segment is for newly designed High Efficiency (HE) machines. As the HE movement progresses, it is necessary to evaluate the impact of these changes on the temperature of the wash process.
