US Mastering JMP: Gleaning Valuable Product Information from Text Data

Are you a subject matter expert with information buried in unstructured text, such as free-response fields from surveys, incident reports, product reviews, or warranty records? Do you want to determine and understand the value and relevancy of patterns found in the text? Do you want to assure you will interpret the text information accurately to add insight into a problem you need to solve or to help develop a new product to improve the current product?

In this session, we use the following steps to explore textual information and identify statistically significant underlying themes in the text of health inspector restaurant reports:

Identify and see examples of unique terminology and vocabulary used in text mining.
Examine sample graphical reports showing text mining conclusions.
Curate text iteratively to prepare for text analysis.
Save rules you identify as useful so you can apply them to new data sets.
Score results and save important text to a data table or Document Term Matrix.
Find underlying clusters/themes/topics in text using JMP Pro Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) and Latent Class Analysis (LCA) .
Save LSA and LCA correlations back to the data table to use in analysis or model.
