Well I've tried all three using jmp__1811__win.exe updater. It does not appear to update JMP. I'll try tech support. Thanks. I love Macs...no issues.

OK, I am not a Windows user, but support some folks that use the Windows version (I run Windows in Parallel on my Mac). I recently received a notice of an update to 18.1.1. I downloaded the file and ran it in Windows 11. I get the option to Modify, Repair or Remove. I have tried both modify and repair and neither brought the version to 18.1.1. How do you do it? So simple on a Mac...

<STRIKE>If JMP 18 exists on the Windows box when you run the update, it will ask you to Modify, Repair or Remove. You need to choose to Remove the JMP 18 software. Once removed, you then need to run the update again and it will install the new version. The update can not replace an existing version of JMP. It first has to be removed.</STRIKE>

The update file is called

I install the latest daily build in R&D every morning for testing. The first time I run the installer, it removes the previous app. The second time, it installs the current app.

Did you try to uninstall, restart, and re-install? You shouldn't have to, but it might clear something that is preventing the correct install. Also, try downloading the installer again.

Sorry, you are having so much trouble with such a simple thing.

Yes, I have tried every combination with the same installer. I will download the installer again and try again. Thanks Mark.

Update, download a new updater and used Repair and it worked.

@statman , which CPU type are you using on your Mac that is giving you issues with the VM of windows? I had an issue running JMP on a VM (Parallels and VMWare with Windows 11) on an M1 Mac. It would appear to install (icon was there) but it would not launch. Not sure that is what you are seeing given that you were running JMP 18.0.1 already.

Just a note with respect to JMP 18.0 and the Python installation. With 18.1 the layout of the python dlls changed from 18.0 to better support pip installing packages that needed to be build locally.

The JMP installer did NOT properly account for these changes. So to have a fully functional Python for 18.1 you do indeed need to do the Uninstall, Re-install route rather than the doing an Update or Repair.
