There is a strange bug on our systems with the attached file.

Some info about the file: The images are loaded incorrectly as

New Image( Char To Blob( "", "base64compressed" ), "jpeg" )

When we try to update Big Class.jmp with this file, a warning pops up:

and when I change the settings to:

... JMP crashes.

We opened a ticket at JMP support: TS-00173091.

Surprisingly, JMP support is not able to replicate the bug:

I took another look at this. I tried to replicate this crash and could not. I also had several others try without a crash.
The Crash Report indicates the crash is due to an issue with the Microsoft Visual C++, a component JMP runs on top of.
This can be caused by installing JMP and not rebooting or having the Microsoft Visual C++ component update via Windows Update and not rebooting.
Please ensure all of your Windows Updates are applied and reboot your system.

To get some statistics, could you some of you check the behavior on your system?
WARNING: JMP will crash - maybe
What could be the difference between our systems and the systems at JMP support?

We see the crash with JMP 17.2, 18.1 (2 different computers tested), 19EA3

I just tested it - I also see a crash with the downloaded file.
-> issue doesn't get remove by a file scanner.

also crashes if the files is opened in Examine mode.
-> OK to use this mode for the test.

I got the JMP Alert message, but there was no crash when I updated the table.

The crash is not caused by the update (click on OK) - the update runs on my system without an issue.

It seems to be the preview.
deselecting and selecting the "images" column leads to a crash - reproducibly.

I removed the file with the bug some while ago.

JMP support could reproduce the bug.
sorry for the late update.
