The phrase "...proper results..." is undefined in your post wrt to the criteria you require to render the desired results. Hence it's impossible to answer that part of your question. And if you require all main effects and all possible interactions between the effects then a full factorial design is the smallest design you could run to still estimate all the required effects.

Dear Sir/Madam,

For an optimization study my team wants to use JMP to create a DoE design that maximizes output and minimizes the amount of experiments. We have 3 continuous variables (duration; velocity; volume) that have two levels each. To my limited knowledge a Full Factorial DoE would require 2^3 = 8 experiments. Is there a possibility to create a DoE design that requires less than 8 experiments and still have proper results and still gives us information about the significant contribution of the variables and interaction between them?

Thank you in advance for your time and answer,

Kind regards,

Biotech1
