Hello

I'm using JMP Pro 12 and would like to know how to define the reference value of a nominal variable.

For example, in order to use this variable in a Cox model.

Without any defined reference for the nominal variable, JMP provides HR for each comparison between 2 groups, whereas i would like to compare each other group to the reference group only.

Thanks

Florent

hi @fguerville,

i think what you are looking for comes from the times multiple category variables were introduced as a set of dummy variables. therefore, try the following:

https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Academic-Knowledge-Base/Make-Indicator-Dummy-Variables/ta-p/22636

let us know if it helps,

Ron
