Within JMP, once you have a prediction formula in a column then (no matter how that formula was created), adding a new row will give you a new, predicted value. So, to be clear, what you describe in the last paragraph is already possible in JMP.

But, as you imply, there are many use cases in which there is good reason to 'export' the JMP formula to another environment. To learn more about options for this, take a look at the Formula Depot.

Hey everyone,

I'm very new to the JMP platform and the community. I am using JMP Pro, and have built a recursive partitioning model predictor. However, I'm really confused as to how to put it use for practical usage. I don't have too much experience with programming etc. so I'd like to export the prediction formula to excel and use it as a predictor.

For example:

Inputting 3 values gives a target value. Would it be naiive to assume that exporting the prediction formula to excel (If that's an option) that I could input any values into the input columns and the predictor (incorporating the prediction formula from JMP) will predict the value?

You should also see Help > Books > Profilers. The Prediction Profiler provides many features to exploit the model after it is fit and saved to a new data column. For example, you can combine multiple models in the Profiler to examine several responses simultaneously.
