There are several ways to complete the "Construct Model Effects" section of fit model platform. There are several "macros" written that will create interactions Factorial to degree and Polynomial to degree which creates the non-linear order terms based on order selected. Highlight the factors, set the order and then select the appropriate macro. You can also add the first order term, then select that same term in the columns window, select that term in the Construct Model Effects window and hit the Cross button.

JMP v19, "Fit Model", why there is no "Power" button?

In the "Fit Model" tool, Construct Model Effects, I need to add a second order term. Per instruction, I should select the column, then click "Power" button. I do not see a Power button.

I tried this: select a column, Degree is set to 2, click Add again. No response.

I don't know of a "Power" button, but if you want to square a factor, click on "Transform" in the Fit model dialog and click squared. It works for me (JMP19).
