LOL. Yes, I restarted JMP each time I ran a new set of tests you suggested.

1. Opened the STK Included Maps folder.

2. Copied the two STK_300mm*.jmp files.

3. Opened the JMP User Maps folder. The two STK_300mm*.jmp files were already in this directory. I pasted the two files and replaced the original copies.

4. Closed the STK windows and restarted JMP.

5. Reopened the STK and confirmed that "300mm_wafer" is still included in the Background Maps tab.

6. Clicked Bare Wafer Mapping and selected OK to load the example data set.

7. Repeated the setup of the 5 plots for bare wafer mapping data.

Result: I still see square maps and the Set Background Map settings show Images set to "None."

In previous versions of JMP, there were options in Graph for "Legacy" plots that would allow the builder to build contour plots and import a map as a file. Is there a way I can pull the 300mm_wafer map file into the Graph builder of the Unpatterned Wafer Data mapping tool manually?

Hi folks;

I have downloaded the latest Semiconductor Toolkit from Marketplace for JMP 19.

I tried to reproduce a set of wafer maps outlined in the tutorial by selecting a 300 mm map as a background map and using the example data set included with the toolkit.

When I display my data, the background maps do not appear. Instead, the heatmaps are all square maps.

Has anybody else encountered this?

HI, all!

For future reference, @StandardCrow102 , @ElizabethWebb, @hogi - questions about add-ins should go in the Q&A tab for the add-in over in the marketplace. The developer is automatically notified when someone posts something over there. So you won't be waiting for a week to get an answer without the developer knowing. ;)

Now, could one of you right click on your graph and select graph > background map...

and show me what you see in the dialog that comes up? It should look something like this:

Hi Mike;

Big thanks for getting back to us. Here is what I see when I do the following.

1. Start the Semiconductor Toolkit Add In.

2. Click the Bare Wafer Map (Mapping) button.

3. Click OK to load the example data set.

4. Configure the plot for Response to Response axis, XY to XY Coordinates, and Sampling pattern to By. Five square maps are displayed.

5. Right-click on the displayed "49 site Radial" map and select Graph --> Background Map.

Attached is what is displayed. Note that I have already placed "300mm_wafer" in the list of Unsorted Background Maps.

Try going into the maps manager and going to the STK Map Library tab. Right click on the 300 mm wafer and select "add to background maps". That should copy it to background maps tab. Use the LRT option to double check that the map files are in the folder.

It was a design choice to not do this automatically since it would have spammed peoples background maps dialog if I dumped all the different options in there.

The other option is that you can open the included maps folder (another option under the red triangle menu) and copy the 300 map files from (there are two) from the user maps folder. Be sure to just copy them not move them. The key point is that you want that user maps folder to look like this (for those 300 maps file):

Best,

Clicking Refresh Library from the LRT appears to have no effect. The two previously loaded maps still appear in the Background Maps tab.

I can right-click on my 25mmCouponsZeroOffset_Map and delete the map from the list of available items of the Background Maps tab and I can select it again from User Maps and Add it to the Background Maps.

I can click the LRT --> Open STK Included Maps Folder and I see subfolders for each of the map sizes. Where should I copy the 300 mm maps to? I do not see a menu option to Open the Background Maps tab.

On the maps folders. Here's what you can do -

Open the included maps folder.

Go to the 300mm folder and copy the two files there.

Open the JMP User Maps Folder (this is where JMP looks for user background maps.)

Paste the two 300mm files into the User maps folder. JMP doesn't check subfolders in this directory, so I can't organize by wafer size. (Why I couldn't preinstall these files without blowing up the list in JMP's background map dialog).

Restart JMP just to be 100% sure everything gets a clean restart.

@StandardCrow102 - You can do it manually, but the fact that's not showing up at all in the background maps list suggests something is not behaving correctly. This is all really odd... Let's try this. Copy that 25mm map that you created somewhere so it's not lost. And then go to the Add-ins... dialog (it's under the view menu on the Mac, I think it might be somewhere else on Win11):

In that menu, select the toolkit and select unregister. It will ask if you want to remove the files. Do that.

Then, restart JMP and reinstall the STK (download it again from the marketplace to make sure you have the latest version). If that doesn't work, then we need to get tech support involved to help us understand why the maps in your user folder aren't being located by JMP.

Hi Mike;

Happy Friday!

Here's what I did.

1. Unregistered the STK add in.

2. Re-downloaded the STK from Marketplace.

3. Installed the add in with "Check for Updates on JMP Startup" selected.

4. Opened the STK and verified that the 300mm_Wafer map from the STK Map Library is still included in the Unsorted Wafer Maps tree in Background Maps.

5. Opened the Unpatterned Wafer Data jmp file and setup my 5 map plots again.

Result: Same as yesterday, all square maps, no 300mm wafer background map available in the Set Background Map menu.

All the log shows is the presence of an unknown Helvetica Neue font. Nothing related to STK.

When I open the Maps folder, I notice that the STK_300mm*.jmp files are all still dated 2026-01-14. Shouldn't unregistering and reinstalling the app update those dates?

@StandardCrow102 - not sure on the date thing, but I'm going to recommend that you send this track over to tech support at this point. It looks like something is going on with the user shape file folder that is preventing JMP from recognizing files in there. When everything is working correctly, it should look like this:

Since none of your custom maps are showing up in the background map dialog (part of JMP itself and not the STK), I think the issues might be more systemic.

Best,

Working with Laura Archer in JMP technical support, she was able to get a solution to the problem.

1. De-register STK from the list of AddIns.

2. Reinstall STK from marketplace.jmp.com.

3. Copy and paste the Maps folder from C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\JMP to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\JMP\JMP.

4. Restart JMP and open STK, click on the Map Manager button.

5. Set the 300mm_Wafer map in the STK Map Library as a background map. It should appear in the list of Unsorted Wafer Maps.

6. Click the Bare Wafer Map (Mapping) button and load the example data. Setup the plot as shown in the demo.

Result: I can now display the demo data with the 300mm_Wafer background map.
