デザインスペースの領域が一致しません。

JMPの練習のため、論文のデータを用いて解析・再現をしています。

その中で3つの不純物に対してPlackett-Burman計画によるスクリーニング・中心複合計画による最適化を実施し、予測モデルを作成しました。

論文中に記載されている予測モデル式はいずれも同様のものが作成できました。

論文中では最適化の過程でプーリングをしていますが、モデルを合わせたデザインスペース作成のため、すべてのパラメーターを含むモデルを使用したと記載があります。

これに従い、プーリングしない状態、すなわちすべてのパラメーターを含む状態で予測モデル式を作成し、デザインスペースを作りました。

しかし、不純物が0.1%以上となるデザインスペースのエリアが一致せず、私の作成したものの方が広くなっています。

デザインスペース作成に用いた予測モデルの式は記載がないため不明ですが、原因はどこにあるのでしょうか。

Hi @keita_ ,

There are a few thoughts on this:

1. The authors have created the 'whole parameter' model and further refined it (i.e. with stepwise regression to reduce model terms) and then performed Design Space analysis - this would make more sense as you want to refine your model and reduce your non statistically significant terms before you attempt to perform Design Space profiling: if the model is overfitting then the profiles will be misleading.

2. Has the author mentioned any blocking considerations in the model? Have they discussed if they combined their Placket and central composite results together for the model creation?

3. The other (more unfortunate but common) likelihood is the results aren't reproducible, unfortunately this can happen in publications which is often why authors are reluctant to share their full data!

I am not very familiar with 2. blocking, but I don't think it was mentioned.

Also, regarding 3, the predictive model equation for design space is not disclosed.

だいぶ時間がたってしまいすでに解決済みですが、また、以下の私の返信は見当違いかもしれませんが、＜楕円のなかに、どうやって矩形領域を設けるか？＞という点で食い違いが生じているかもしれないと思いました。

たとえば、下図のような赤線の楕円領域内部が不純物率が0.1%以下となる領域だったとします。その場合、デザインスペースとして設定できる長方形（矩形領域）としては、黄色や水色のものがあります。

この例でX1に幅を持たせたかったら水色の長方形のほうが実用上はのぞましく、逆にX2に幅を持たせたかったらら黄色のほうが好まれると思います。何かしらの制約、たとえば＜楕円内に位置して、かつ、なるべく面積が最大になるような長方形を求める＞といった制約を加えないと、長方形（矩形領域）が一意に定まらないような気がします。
